At the Grateful Way we teach our guests to live healthier lives. We offer a wide range of classes, including:

Childbirth / Breastfeeding Classes
The recipes we create and teach are all healthy, affordable, easy to prepare, and delicious! For those who can’t attend a class in person, many of our classes are available online and we also offer videos and ebooks. (We are working on a video series that will be available soon!)
People from all walks of life are welcome here. We ask that everyone be respectful of each other's lifestyles and acknowledge that everyone is at a different place along their health journey. You do not have to eat a 100% Plant-Based diet to benefit from our programs. We offer solutions to make all diets healthier. However, the recipes we prepare at Grateful Way and post online are vegan or have a vegan option.
We believe that health isn’t determined by diet alone. We also teach our retreat guests how to incorporate healthy habits through emotional growth and physical activities. Check out our Events page and sign up for a class today!

Hi,
I’m René Oswald. I have always loved creating delicious recipes. I started my kitchen experiments as a young child. I didn’t think much about the ingredients I was using at the time. Most of my favorite recipes consisted of meat, dairy, sugar and white flour. Later, when I became an RN, my love of cooking was put on the back burner and became just a fun thing to do in my spare time.
Everything changed when I was challenged with a rare, incurable disease. I learned about the healing power of nutrient-packed foods, which were quite different from the recipes I grew up with. When I changed my favorite recipes by substituting healthy ingredients, I was amazed. They actually tasted better! By creating this program, I have combined my passion for making delicious foods and my passion for helping people regain their health.
My journey to wellness has taken me across the US, from California to Florida. At the Optimum Health Institute in San Diego, I first witnessed how wholesome, natural, organic foods could restore health. After starting to regain my own health, I moved to Florida with my husband and children and started a program devoted to making these healing dishes tasty and easy to prepare. The original Transitioning to Living Cuisine (TLC) Program that I created in 2008 is written in 7 levels which are tailored to help people tenderly transition to their optimum lifestyle in a fun and easy way. The dietary changes are made at a personal pace, addressing unique circumstances, preferences, and tastes. More recently, I have incorporated more cooked recipes into the program and we are currently working on a new video series, called the Grateful Way Health Program!
My own health transformation has helped me recognize each day as a very special gift. I now teach nutrition and plant-based food prep classes around the country, online and run a wellness retreat in Deltona, FL. Join our Facebook Group, Plant-Powered Health Seekers.
