Pineapple Green Smoothie (makes 4 cups)
1-2 cups water
Red Leaf lettuce (Start with 2-3 leaves, working up to 1/4 lb. or more)
4 cups of pineapple, peeled (but not cored) and cut into 1 1/2" pieces
1 cup strawberries, fresh or frozen (if organic, greens may be left on)
1 orange, peeled, seeds removed and quartered
1 banana, peeled and frozen
2 Tablespoons ground flax seed
1 teaspoon vanilla powder or vanilla flavoring
Place water and lettuce in the high-speed blender. Run on high until finely chopped. Add the remaining ingredients and blend on high until liquefied.
