Fruity Ginger Smoothie (makes 4-5 cups)
1 cup (240 ml) water
1 pear, peeled and cored
1 apple, cored
2-3 dates, soaked in water for 15 minutes, pits removed
1/4 cup (60 ml) almonds, soaked in water 8-10 hours (or use staple stash)
1/4 cup (60 ml) sesame seeds, soaked in water for 8-10 hours (or use staple stash)
2 Tablespoons (30 ml) ground flax seed
1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon (0.625 ml) nutmeg
1/4” (0.625 cm) fresh ginger
2 frozen bananas
Drain almonds and sesame seeds. Combine all ingredients in high-speed blender. Run on high speed for about 60 seconds or until smooth.
