Did you know how important it is to soak your seeds and nuts in water before eating them? Raw and roasted nuts and seeds are very hard for the body to digest. Just soaking the raw nut or seed for 8 hours releases the enzyme inhibitor and they can be eaten right away, or you can dehydrate or slow bake them for crispiness and awesome flavor! Please discard the soak water as it is not good for your body (or your plants). Another benefit of soaking is that it extends the life of the nut or seed because the outer oil has been washed off, so there is less likelihood of rancidity. Pre-soaking only works with raw nuts and seeds, not roasted! Try it for yourself and share your experience here! Another fact to share; you don't need to worry about soaking cashews, macadamia nuts or pine nuts because these nuts do not produce an enzyme inhibitor.
